About Us

4 Freedom Equestrian Team is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2006 by Leah Edwards of Arcanum, Ohio. 4 Freedom was specifically organized to be a charitable organization and for educational purposes. 4FET brings public awareness to the needs and sacrifices of the men and women of the US Armed Forces and our nation’s veterans through literature and hand-outs showing ways the public can help those who have served or are currently serving this country. The team honors them for their accomplishments by performing a uniformed mounted drill at military and non-military oriented events and by sending care packages and letters to soldiers currently deployed around the world. All donations made to this team are used for operation, travel and for educational and awareness purposes consistent with our non-profit mission.
The team consists of riders from the Darke, Miami, Preble, Clinton and Montgomery County areas. We travel around the Miami Valley and surrounding areas to stand as Honor Guard or perform our "Salute to the Armed Forces" drill at festivals, fairs, and other expositions. The team is dressed in partial military uniforms of the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard with each carrying the respective branch's flag, along with the American flag POW/MIA, Ohio and Support Our Troops flags. Our horses are also tacked in matching colors with their riders uniform. 4 Freedom Equestrian Team's goal is to support and honor the United States military and our veterans and to bring to the public eye a reminder of those who are away from home fighting for our freedom and to say Thank You to those who served in the past.
If you would like 4 Freedom to be part of your event, please contact us. We are also able to represent one specific branch of service, for events such as homecomings.

We ask that you take time to pray for our soldiers who are serving overseas and remember our veterans who have served this country throughout history. Remember, also, the families who are here at home without their loved ones, especially during the Holidays. We sometimes forget about them when our families are all together and celebrating the freedom that our country has. When it's all because of the men and women who fight for this country and their wives, husbands and children who have to be just as brave and strong and who sometimes pay the ultimate sacrifice just as God did for us when He gave us His Son.
